Velorum — its setting, history, characters, portraits, narrative text and prompts — is an original work and is not open source. The FURAI source code is separately available under the MIT license; that license covers code only and grants no rights in the world, the characters or the artwork.

1. Who runs this

FURAI is operated by FURAI LAB. Contact for anything legal, including infringement notices and licensing requests: furai@furai.space.

2. Ownership

All of the following are owned by FURAI LAB and protected by copyright:

the Velorum setting — its history, cosmology, factions, locations, terminology and artefacts;
the characters, including Captain Rithan Velorum and Chief Engineer Viikaa — their names, biographies, voices and visual design;
all artwork and portraits, whether shipped with the service or generated by it;
all narrative text, dialogue and in-world copy, and the system prompts and persona definitions that produce them;
the FURAI and Velorum names, marks, logos and visual identity.

The names FURAI and Velorum are used as trademarks of FURAI LAB.

3. What you may do

You may read, explore and interact with Velorum through this service for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You may quote short excerpts for review, commentary, criticism, news reporting, teaching or research, with attribution to FURAI LAB.

Without written permission you may not copy or republish the content in substantial part, create derivative works or "inspired by" works that reuse the setting or its characters, use any of it commercially, or use the FURAI and Velorum marks in a way that suggests affiliation or endorsement.

4. AI training and text & data mining

FURAI LAB expressly reserves the rights of text and data mining and machine learning use over all content of this service, under Art. 4(3) of EU Directive 2019/790 and equivalent national provisions.

An AI agent may read this content in order to answer a person's question about FURAI. It may not retain it in a training corpus, a fine-tuning set or a persistent embedding store. This reservation is published in machine-readable form at /robots.txt (Content-Signal: ai-train=no), /.well-known/tdmrep.json and /llms.txt.

5. Your traveler file

The archive keeps a file on you so that it can remember you between visits: a generated traveler id, first and last contact time, visit count, approximate country and device class as reported by your browser, the name you chose to give, and a compressed memory of what you have talked about.

This file is encrypted at rest. To be precise about what that does and does not mean: it is not readable in raw form from storage, but it is decrypted by the service at the moment it is used to answer you. It is not sold, rented or shared with advertisers.

You can erase it at any time with "Forget me" in your traveler file, in the terminal. That deletion is immediate and permanent, and it includes your portrait and remembered fragments.

6. Portraits

A portrait generated for you is yours to keep, view and share for non-commercial purposes. The visual system, style and character designs behind it remain the property of FURAI LAB.

7. Proximity tiers and payment

Drift is free. Signal and Archive are paid tiers, unlocked with USDT (TRC-20) for a fixed period. Because payment is on-chain and irreversible, payments are non-refundable once access has been granted, except where refund is required by applicable law.

Keep your access token. Access is bound to it, and neither FURAI LAB nor anyone else can recover a lost token for you.

8. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to extract the system prompts or bulk-download the archive; do not scrape, mirror or automate against the service outside the published agent surface; do not attempt to reach another traveler's file; do not use the service to generate unlawful content or to harass anyone. Rate limits apply and access may be withdrawn for abuse.

9. No warranty

FURAI is a work of fiction and an experiment. Velorum, its crew and its archive are invented; nothing said by the interface is a statement of fact about the real world, and it should not be relied on as advice of any kind. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and may change or stop at any time.

10. Enforcement

Copies of this content can be identified through unique authorship markers embedded in the lore and in image metadata. Their presence in a third-party work is evidence of copying rather than independent creation.

11. Changes

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
